It may not be difficult to find out people in talking the topic…is skinny jeans will goes away? Looks like this is not only circulating on the internet in America, even escalated to an aggressive battle in social media for Millennial against Gen Z since early this year.
I am not trying to conclude anything… but This Phenomenon is interesting for study, the denim mastermind (such as Levis, AEO, ANF) are literally going out and share how they felt for those may menacing their business.
Looks like most of the CEO are taking this as an opportunities and really seeing the shopper move to buying baggier jeans including wide-leg and flare style that were popular in 1990’s, most of them believe the Pandemic has helped drive home the trend as consumers are now looking for comfort… because of decade long success of skinny jeans, fashion world already in the stages of a new denim cycle that embrace roomy outfit.
Gen Z and Millennial are posing 2 difference opinion, so the brand identity and positioning are very important where they should go…
But one thing for sure is that if brand can support sustainability that everyone can lean into, such as reducing the amount of water, carbon or recycle the waste in the making of denim, that will be enhancing whichever the style to be, not only women’s but men’s denim as well.
