Trade Shows | Kingpins A/W 24/25 Report - part I

Updated: Oct 22

Kingpins A/W 24/25

A selection of key current developments at the denim sourcing show in Amsterdam, presenting sustainable fibre selections, tactile surfaces and heritage looks

Transseasonal neutrals

Unrefined ecru bases transition into colder months with sustainable raw denims that use less water and fewer chemicals.

Fiber and yarn: opt for BCI-, GOTS-certified organic and GRS recycled cotton, seeded cotton, traceable and recycled linen and hemp.

Color and finish: create subtle color variation with speckled and washed-down ecru, off-white and tinted brown bases.

Archival blues

Timeless, authentic traditional denim moves into conscious fibre blends as mills look for lower-impact fibre innovations.

Fibre and yarn: source fibres of BCI-, GOTS-certified organic and GRS recycled cotton, pineapple, hemp and Tencel.

Color and finish: give an authentic character with deep indigo blues and explore low-impact dyeing methods.

Irregular character

Extreme tactile surfaces and space-like patterns create unique character, playing with contrasts and texture.

Fibre and yarn: source BCI-, GOTS-certified organic and GRS/RCS recycled cotton and recycled polyester and deadstock fabrics.

Colour and finish: the texture is created through dye or finishing techniques, playing with contrasting highs and lows.

Smokey greys

Build dystopian and dark future themes in black or grey washes for underground acid and stonewashed effects.

Fibre and yarn: source BCI, GOTS organic and GRS/RCS recycled cotton, blending with hemp or wool.

Colour and finish: colours take on a range of washed black and grey. Pakistan's Kassim Denim's CleanKORE range is partnered with Archroma to provide a safer potassium permanganate-free system to achieve vintage black jeans.
